Dennis Jones Engineering specialises in the design, manufacture and repair of most machining components and parts, for most industrial sectors – i.e. aerospace, paper, power, transport, agriculture and motorsport.

DJE has the capacity to manufacture a range of specialist components, from one-off to medium production runs. DJE has invested in high quality Japanese Mazak CNC machines that allow quick set-up times for one-off jobs to just-in-time medium production runs.

DJE keeps a range of raw materials (copper, steel, plastic, aluminium, brass, bronze and plastic) for agile production runs, to ensure speed in delivery. DJE carries a large cross section of material in stock at all times ranging from 3/16” diameter s.s. rod, machine grade plastics, aluminium bar to 230 diameter, 4140 H/T, 316 s.s., bronze, 1020 B.M.S. and K1045 bar up to 350 diameter.

DJE’s machine shop services include:

• Cutting up to 400 diameter Auto saw cutting to 350 diameter
• Turning 6 x manual lathes ranging in capacity up to 800 diameter to 4.5 metres between centres.
• Milling 3 x manual mills ranging in capacity up to 1.5 metres travel.
• Drilling 4 x manual drills ranging in capacity up to 80 mm diameter drill cap with an arm length of 1.8 metres.
• Horizontal Boring Machine 1.7 x 1.7 x 2mt
• 2 x Slotting machines capacity to 300 mm stroke for cutting internal keyways and Splines etc
• EDM spark eroder capacity of 600 mm x 300 mm x 300 mm
• Welding Mig, Tig of stainless steel. and aluminium, carbon steel etc.
• Fitting work including removing and replacing parts, refurbishment of gearboxes, conveyor drums etc.
• A mass finishing machine for automated deburring of machined components

DJE also have surface grinders, tool and cutter grinder, linishers etc.

CNC Machining Capacities

DJE utilises 7 Mazak CNC Machines with the following specs:

• 3 x 3 axis lathes from 300 to 580 turn diameter x 1350 mm between centres 77 mm bar cap
• 1 x 4 axis lathe 350 turn diameter x 500 between centres 52 mm bar cap
• 1 x 3 axis mill 550 x 600 x 1050
• 1 x 3 axis mill 510 x 510 x 2mt machine with 1000 rpm spindle
• 1 x 4 axis mill 510 x 510 x 1050 with 1200 rpm spindle
